Catch limits for BET for the years 2009-2011 for CCMs that caught an average of more than 2,000 tonnes

33. Each member or cooperating non-Member that caught an average of more than 2,000 tonnes of bigeye shall be subject to the following catch limits for bigeye tuna for the years 2009 to 2011 inclusive:
2009: 10% reduction of the catch specified in Attachment F;
2010: 20% reduction of the catch specified in Attachment F;
2011: 30% reduction of the catch specified in Attachment F.

26 Feb 2024: Korea notified the Secretariat that it intends to increase its bigeye tuna catch limit by 10% (i.e. from 13,942MT to 15,336MT) for 2024.

29 Feb 2024: Chinese Taipei notified the Secretariat that it intends to increase its bigeye tuna catch limit by 2% for 2024, by committing that the collective observer coverage by the WCPO, combining LTLL and STLL, will be increased from 5% to 6% by the end of 2024.

**For the United States and those who maintain a 5% observer coverage level, no catch increase is allowed.
In accordance with the deletion of paragraph 9 of CMM 2021 01, catch and effort of U.S. flagged Hawaii based longline vessels will no longer be attributed to US Participating Territories, future attribution for the US territories shall remain separate.
